One folder is
all it takes.

A few settings, then back to your day.

Read the getting started guide
  1. Pick a folder.

Open Watched Folders, choose your screenshots, receipts, or saved ideas, and save. Subfolders are included.

  2. Choose a vision model.

Open AI Extraction. Connect a hosted provider or a local model, then choose a model that can read images.

  3. Let the words come out.

Enable Automatic text extraction and save. Lenscribe gets to work, and the text stays with your images.

BEFORE YOU GET STARTED

A few useful details.

Which macOS download should I choose?

Open the Apple menu and select About This Mac. If it lists an Apple M-series chip, choose Apple Silicon. If it lists an Intel processor, choose Intel.

Do I need an API key?

Hosted providers generally require an API key and may charge for usage. You can also connect a local vision model through Ollama or an OpenAI-compatible endpoint. Automatic extraction is off until you enable it.

How do I update Lenscribe?

Download the installer for the latest release and install it. In-app updates are currently hidden. See what changed in the release notes.
